From 2004 to 2026, TI Comunicações represented South African Tourism in Brazil, helping transform South Africa from a relatively unknown destination into one of the most sought-after destinations among Brazilian travellers.
Throughout this journey, we developed integrated strategies encompassing marketing, public relations, digital communications and travel trade engagement. Through creative campaigns, events, press trips, strategic partnerships and travel agent training programmes, we brought Brazilian travellers closer to South Africa’s culture, diversity and unique experiences.
The results demonstrate the impact of this work: a 594% increase in Brazilian tourist arrivals between 2004 and 2019, more than 35,000 travel agents trained, 22,000 media articles published, and an expansion in the number of Brazilian tour operators selling South Africa from 8 to 70.

Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, which left Brazil and South Africa without direct flights for three years, we kept the destination top of mind among Brazilian travellers. With the restoration of direct air connectivity, the results soon followed: in 2025, approximately 65,000 Brazilians visited South Africa, demonstrating the market’s rapid recovery and the strength of 22 years of consistent destination promotion and relationship-building.
